Gospel musician Kudzi Nyakudya seeks to regain his lost glory with his new album “Pfumo Rinobaya Kwese”. The musician has released several projects that failed to make an impact on the local scene. Though he has been in the media for wrong reasons, the gospel musician is optimistic that the new album will settle the dust. The album has seven tracks “Ndiye Jesu”, “Evhangeli”, “Nguva Yakwana” that featured choral group Vabati Va Jehovha, “Mwari Wa Abraham”, “Jobho Muranda”, “Mazwi Edu” and a bonus track “Mwana Wako”.On this album the musician has moved from hymns with pundits saying it has ended the musician’s dry spell.

The fusion of instruments and Vabati Vajehovha’s choral voices makes the track “Nguva Yakwana” outstanding on the album.

He rekindles his love for hymns on some of the songs like “Ndiye Jesu

Nyakudya is optimistic that the album will make an impact on people’s lives.

“This is a different album because we have put few hymns and the response so far has been encouraging,” he said.

The musician said though a lot has been said about his life some of the songs seek to set the record straight.

“Tracks like “Mwari wa Abraham” says it all and as musicians when you go through a rough patch you seek his guidance. That is how the song came to me,” he said.

Nyakudya hogged the lime light with songs such as Gadziriro”, “Jerusarema”, “Emma na Satan”, “Mwana Wako” that made him a household name.

With almost 16 albums under his name the musician has been blasted for reproducing church hymns with critics saying he failed to maintain the momentum.

Nyakudya however said it was just a phase and he has since revisited his old days.
