Game of Thrones’ Star Peter Vaughan Dies At Age 93

The Game of Thrones star died on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from unknown causes, his agent confirmed. He was 93-years-old.

“This is to confirm that very sadly Peter Vaughan passed away at approximately 10:30 this morning,” Sally Long-Innes told BBC News. “[He] died peacefully with his family around him.


Peter starred as elderly Aemon Targaryen, the maester at Castle Black, in the hit series from Seasons 1 until 5. He additionally appeared in the 1970s sitcom Porridge as well as on shows Citizen Smith, Chancerand Heartbeat.
