A police officer has been fined $100 for assaulting his wife after she refused to have se_x with him as she was on her menstrual cycle. Munyaradzi Magombedze, 22, pleaded guilty when he appeared before Mbare magistrate Kudzai Zihove charged with domestic violence upon his wife Mitchell Mandishona. Magombedze was sentenced to two months in prison before one month was suspended on condition that he does not commit a similar offence for five years. The remaining one month was suspended on condition that he pays $100 fine for the offence he committed.
Sometime in August this year Magombedze asked for se_x from his wife and was told that she was on her menstrual cycle. Magombedze got angry and started assaulting his wife using open hands. Mitchell left the house for church and when she got back Magombedze asked her to prepare sadza for him and she told him that there was no relish.
The accused person then gave Mitchell money to go and buy relish but was told that the shop had closed. This did not go down well with him and began to assault her again using fists and open hands all over her body resulting in her lodging a complaint to the police. Prosecutor Vincent Chikerema appeared for the state.
