IN a suspected case of ritual murder,a teenager’s body was found with missing nose, lips and ears.
Chitungwiza residents are now living in fear after Mutsai Makufa,17,of Zengeza was found dead at her employer’s house in Manyame Park last week Friday.
Speaking to H-Metro,Godfrey Mufudze, brother to the deceased, said he was at a loss for words following Mutsai’s mysterious death.
My sister Mutsai’s body was found by our mother at House number 4270 Manyame Park where she was employed as a domestic worker ,”said a distraught Godfrey.
“Mutsai started working at the house last week Sunday ans she was left with her employer Betty Mtemachani’s daughter Felistas.
“The daughter (Felistas)is also said to have left her on Monday and gone to South Africa where her mother was.
Godfrey said Mutsai’s body was discovered by their mother who had gone there to give her child clothes that she had forgotten at home.
“Amai vakakwanisa kupinda mumba nepa window, vapinda kudaro vakawana Mutsai ari mu bedroom asina kupfeka akafa.
Nzeve nemuromo wake zvanga zvabviswa.Panga pasina ropa pa nzvimbo yaaive.
“Before getting into the house, our mother knocked at Mtemachani residence for two hours before calling Betty.
Betty akavabvumidza kuti vapinde mu yard but the gate was locked and she had to jump the precast security wall so that she could get in.”
Godfrey also said that upon discovering the body of Mukai, the mother panicked and went straight to St Mary’s Police station to report the matter.
Residents in Manyame Park are outraged that such a young girl was left alone in the house.
Neither Betty nor Felistas could be contacted concerning the issue.
Some believe that the murder may have been connected to rituals and calls for the house to be cleansed have grown louder by the day.
Cleopas Chirovamhangu, who stays near the deceased’s relatives in Zengeza, expressed grief and shock at the incident.
“Mutsai aiva musikana akanyarara, she was very humble.
“Takamuona paakabva kumusha ne Vabereki vake.Ndinofunga kuti munhu wese ari kuziva nyaya iyi ari kushushikana.Zvinorwadza,”he said.
Cleopas said that he hope the police will bring whoever is responsible to justice.

Attempts to get a comment from the police proved fruitless by the time of going to print. Mutsai’s body was yesterday set to be taken to Gutu for burial.
