A man who claims to be Alick Macheso’s love child says he wants to emulate the sungura ace. “Alick Macheso is my father and I wish to emulate him through the release of my first album entitled Kuteera matsimba ababa (following daddy’s footsteps),” said one Paul Macheso.Paul said he has a twin sister, Charity and their mother, Patience Ndlovu died in 1999.
Paul said the two siblings got to know their father in 2011 after Alick was approached by their mother’s relatives.“After meeting him in 2011, he vowed to take care of us and
gave us a Nissan Caravan which I am currently using to ply the Gokwe-Kwekwe
route to make ends meet,” he said.
His twin, Charity, is a teacher at a primary school while he resides in Sesame 1 Gokwe.
Charity declined to give any insight. “I don’t discuss my private life with the media,” she said before hanging up.Paul said his father encouraged him to take up music as a career hence the decision to come up with his debut album.
“I am currently working with Peter Moyo and Tryson Chimbetu on my debut offering entitled Kutevera matsimba ababa (following father’s footsteps).”Alick Macheso, however, scoffed at the claims.
“I don’t know of anyone like that and all my children are here with me. I stay with them,” he said.
